Site Quality InspectorThe Site Quality Inspector will report to the Site Quality Manager at our Broussard LA. Office. Duties on shall include but not limited to planning, coordination, and inspections to ensure continuous production of systems are consistent with established codes and standards. Must be a certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or an ASNT VT Level II with entry level or greater experience in Quality and inspection. Will be required to work in the office, plant operations or construction jobsite settings. Have a basic understanding of ASME BPVC, AWS D1.X, NBIC, and API codes. Also, be able to inspect no-welding work as required. Must learn and understand all safety hazards related to the work and learn to safely and effectively use or operate work related tools and equipment. Will be required to work in a plant operations or construction jobsite setting.Responsibilities - Support the Bilfinger Quality Manual and related programs
- Monitor all quality related activities on the project
- Coordinate with Site Quality Manager for quality improvements
- Coordinate NDE vendor activities
- Complete site quality control instructions and action remedial responses
- Verify that contractor quality requirements are specified to vendors and confirms contractor documentation submittals
- Ensure that safety is adhered to at site
- Ensure all technical documents relative to site quality control are current in status
- Put test packages together for client
- Provide inspection activity for in place products
- Investigate and adjust customer issues regarding quality
- Assist Construction as needed
- Safety is an absolute responsibility of managers at each level of authority for all that happens or fails to happen in response to the program within their respective areas. Each manager is expected to implement an incident prevention program as outlined in the Safety and Loss Control Manual.
- Implement and act in accordance with our company policies and procedures. This includes but is not limited to: Code of Ethics, Safety and Loss Control, Human Resources, Finance, and Information Technology.
- Perform hands-on design and preparation of drawings using CAD software or manual drawings / sketches. Microstation Software skills required.
- Assume role of technical resource to construction, client site engineering management and operating modules, when assigned.
- Maintain communication among construction, client site engineering management, client operations and maintenance personnel.
- Responsible for the overall quality of the field engineering package.
- Ensure proper documentation of field design activities, prepare basic design sketches for drafting and incorporate into design criteria. Coordinate design with other personnel working on same project to minimize design conflicts.
- Develop preliminary layouts. May be assigned to coordinate engineering and design activities with construction engineers. Review manufacturer's drawings with respect to company's design criteria.
- Assist Planners with material take-offs, issue resolution, change management, and other functions.
Qualifications
Physical - Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs., but may occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
- Hearing and comprehension is necessary for giving and receiving directions
- Will need to perform sedentary to heavy work
- Will operate office equipment of all types
- Will operate inspection hand gages of all types
- Climb and maintain balance on steel/wood framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds
- Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis
- Position may require prolonged bending/twisting, walking, reaching overhead, squatting, sitting or standing and lifting
- Must be able to manipulate and traverse uneven terrain, ladders, and multi-floor buildings with no elevator
- Must be able to walk on uneven surfaces, muddy conditions, loose rock, loose/soft sand, etc.
- Will be exposed to adverse weather conditions (Heat, Cold, Rain, Etc.)
- Vision requirements include ability to pass a Jaeger 1 visual acuity test and color blind test
- Ability to drive cars/trucks as needed
Mental- Must have the ability to communicate effectively with management/ supervision
- Talking and reading & writing comprehension is necessary for giving and receiving directions to perform work and/or safety policy
- Ability to use math/complete calculations
- Work at various tempos, and concentrate amid distractions
- Decision making skills necessary
- Detail-oriented; must be able to remember, examine, and observe details
Other Requirements - Willing to handle assignment
- Willing to acquire additional certifications as required
- Computer literate with functional knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe
- Must be willing to travel on short but reasonable notice
- Must be able to work overtime as needed
- Willing to accept short project assignments
- Have or be able to obtain TWIC/TSA clearance
- Have or be able to pass Basic Plus or equal safety training
- Will to learn and to assist with Bilfinger`s ASME/NBIC Code Stamp Program
- Previous ASNT, and NACE Level I or II certification is a plus
